Programs

Bright Ideas Childcare and Learning Center is designed to provide a comfortable, safe and secure learning environment for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Our classrooms are designed to allow your child a hands on experience for learning. We are dedicated in providing an environment that meets the social, emotional and intellectual growth of your child. Our programs are structured to provide each age group with age appropriate curriculum for fundamental learning.

Our curriculum Director provides each classroom with age appropriate thematic curriculum to stimulate their physical, emotional, social and educational development. A monthly calendar and daily schedule is posted in each classroom that identities the them, activities and curriculum for each month. Please feel free to ask for a copy of the month’s calendar.

Infants
We provide infant care to those infants that are 6 weeks of age until they are at least 12 month of age and walking steadily on their feet. We believe that warm responsive care is crucial for your infant’s healthy development. Our childcare specialists provide a nurturing environment for infants to learn fundamental skills of communication and fine motor skills that are essential to their development.

Parents must provide at least 5 diapers per day for a full day, at least 3 bottles that you can leave for us to wash and sanitize and two changes of clothing. Bright ideas provides a lipil formula and a soy formula, baby food and wipes. Parents must provide any specialized formula such as Gentle Ease, specialized food or special wipes. Bright Ideas is completely supportive of breast feeding moms and cloth diapers.

Toddlers
This is a period of rapid growth and development. toddlers thrive on gross motor activity and language development. We provide an environment with plenty of fun activities and language development. At the end of each day, we will give you a complete record of your child’s activities, including naps, eating and diapering. Parents will need to provide diapers and extra clothes. Bright Ideas provides sippy cups and wipes.

Children are just starting to realize that there is a world that exists beyond themselves, and they want to explore every square inch! We stimulate this sense of discovery by providing a colorful educational environment. Their days are filled with stories, songs, physical activities and of course, potty training. Parents are required to bring diapers or pull ups, sippy cups and a lot of extra clothes.

Teachers and directors will assess potty training readiness. When children are ready to potty-train, parents must sign a potty-training contract in order to commence potty training. Teachers will train no more than 4 children per teacher. As outlined in the potty training contract, parents must agree to go completely without diapers at the start of training with the exception of a night diaper. Parents not in compliance with the contract will be put on the bottom of the parent request list.

We have two different classes for toddlers ages one and two.

Preschool
Your preschooler’s day will be filled with lost of fun hands-on activities that will start to prepare them for kindergarten. We believe in an emotional, social and intellectual approach to learning fundamentals such as language, writing, dramatic play and circle time. Children must be completely potty trained before entering our preschool programs. Parents must provide an extra set of clothes, as accidents do happen.

We have two different classes for Preschool ages 3 and 4.

School Agers
Fun and learning continues before and after school. We provide a less formal environment for your child’s learning. Each day after school students will have a snack and complete their homework assignments at our homework stations, unless otherwise stated by parents. School Agers have their choice of one of the computers, games or art work. They will also have outdoor activities and organized playtime. When you child is out of school for intersession or breaks, we offer an action packed program that will keep your child entertained. Parents are encouraged to provide an extra set of clothes.

Meet Our Teachers

Cassandra Roman

Teacher

I am Miss Cassie and I am the Twos Teacher. I have been working with Bright Ideas since the beginning of 2008. I have been working with children for a little over 5 years. Within the passed couple years at Bright Ideas I have worked in every room and have found my place. I love working with the 2-year-olds! The children may be a rambunctious group at times, but I like to think they are full of energy while also awaiting new things to learn.Working here for almost 3 years has given me the opportunity to see some of these children come in as infants, not even crawling, where they are now 3-years-old and tracing their name. The 2-year-olds will learn to count, their basic shapes and colors, while hitting the big feat of going potty!!!The class has its weekly themes, where the children will have fun art projects, dramatic play, work on their large and fine motor skills, that will all relate back to the theme. I have the children interact with me and each other during circle time; going over shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. They have their free time to burn off some of that energy, whether it’s dancing with music and movement or running and swinging outside on the playground. The children keep me smiling or laughing so I like to keep one on theirs.

Liz Everett

Teacher

Hi my name is Liz. I am the lead teacher in the ones room and have experience working with all ages of children. Coming from a family of eight children and now having four children under the age of five I am somewhat of an expert at handling large groups of kids. I have been working with bright ideas since March of 2007. I am very dedicated to working and spending time outside of work preparing for the time I spend in the classroom. I enjoy working in the ones room because it’s a high energy room and every day is a new adventure. In the ones room your child will enjoy artistic play, arts, crafts, sign language story time and lots of singing. Because of my experience I have an amazing command of the classroom so the children have an opportunity to learn more and do more fun activities. I am very artistic and love coming up with numerous creative activities every week for the kids to enjoy.

Kim Nguyen

Teacher

Hello! My name is Kim and I am the 3’s and 4’s teacher. I have been working at Bright Ideas Preschool since the beginning of 2010. I have a combined total of 4 years in Preschool education. I absolutely love my job and my class! I like to think outside of the box and challenge my kids. You can usually find me rolling on the floor with my kids or getting my hands dirty without many creative activities we do each day. We do follow a pretty strict daily schedule but definitely can be flexible when things come up!
